What is the En’Kara Fair?

The En’Kara fair is one of the four great fairs which are held quarterly in the shadow of the Sardar Mountains. The Sardar Fairs are organized, regulated and administered by the Merchant Caste. There are many events held at fairs as well as many goods being bought, sold and traded. Merchant Law is largely established and codified at the great Sardar Fairs and attempts to introduce standardizations of coinage among major cities are made yet are often unsuccessful, much as the reform of chronology which is presented by the Scribes on a yearly basis. Peace measures between warring cities are often discussed at the Sardar Fairs. Every Gorean, male and female, is expected to see the Sardar Mountains in honor of the Priest Kings before they turn twenty five and traveling to one of the Sardar Fairs is when this is most often achieved.

What is the Road to the Fair?

The Road to the Fair is our opportunity to participate in roleplay scenarios which portray the hazardous circumstances surrounding traveling to one of the great Sardar Fairs. Due to the pilgrimage of many young Goreans before their twenty fifth year, this is a prime time for many outlaws, slavers and panthers to test their hand at capturing and enslaving travelers and then benefiting from their work by selling these newly enslaved at the fairs. This goes, also for merchant goods and other items which might be transported to the fair to be sold or traded.

Is Combat Allowed at the Fair?

No, combat is not allowed at the fair grounds. zCS meters are not to be worn at the fair grounds.

Is Combat Allowed on the Road to the Fair?

Yes, combat is allowed on the Road to the Fair. The zCS meter is to be worn at all times on the Road to the Fair.

What is the dress code for the fair?

Gorean dress is required for the Road to the Fair as well as the Fair Grounds. The only places where Gorean dress is not required are the OOC/G&S/DFS Markets. Regardless of your affiliation with the Gorean Community, be you BTB, GE or Lifestyle, you must dress in Gorean attire. Panthers are not required to go in disguise.

Can I wear bumpers, noise makers and particle emitters at the fair?

Due to the high amount of lag generated by the fair and fair goers, we ask that you do not wear bumpers, spankers, chokers, slappers, particle emitters (aside from collar chains) and other extra devices which are scripted and generate noises or particles. If such devices are seen being used, you will be politely asked to remove them until you depart the fair.

Can I rez or wear my own Tarn/Tharlarion/Kaiila/NPC Guards/etc?

No, you are not allowed to rez your own rideable vehicles (tarns, tharlarion, etc). The only rideable vehicles that may be rezzed at the En’Kara Fair this year are the Kaiila provided by the Fair. The Racing Tarns and Tharlarions provided by the Fair, and even then, they may only be used for their designated purpose. You are also not allowed to attach NPC Guards, Companions, Pets, or other animals (animesh or otherwise). If they are found in your tent area, they will be returned. If you are wearing them, you will be asked to remove them by a Fair Marshal or Fair Leadership.

Can I use gestures at the fair?

Gestures can be used in moderation ONLY if they are Gorean in nature and are not disruptive to events or roleplay. Gestures which play loud noises, obnoxious animations or are being spammed continuously should not be used at the fair or you risk being ejected.

Is the fair IC or OOC?

The fair is a blend of both IC and OOC. There will be roleplay events which would be considered IC and there will also be OOC events such as educational discussions and other events which are meant to educate the role player rather than the character. There will also be events which are a mix of OOC and IC such as sword tournaments, dance troupes, entertainers, radio hosts and more. Use your best judgment as to whether or not you are attending an IC or OOC event and act accordingly. When attending an event which is a mix of IC/OOC or is strictly OOC in nature, remember to be OOCLY respectful to those hosting and attending events. Do not use the mixed nature of the fair as an excuse to be a nuisance or to avoid roleplay consequences by flopping back and forth.

Are GE and Lifestyle Community Members Allowed?

Yes, the fair represents the Gorean community in all aspects, from By the Book to Gorean Evolved to Lifestylers. The fair also provides a great deal of OOC and IC events which are both entertaining and educational for all. Regardless of your involvement in the Gorean Community, you are welcome!
