What inspired the leadership to first start a dance troupe?

Late in 2018 a fine man named Altros, a passionate man of the arts, assisted by his Pani Contract Atticus, a passionate musician, founded N.I.C.E. in Port Nor, a trading port outpost of The Oasis of Two Scimitars. Altros wanted all boys and girls from Port Nor to become part of a theater/dance troupe to share his passion. Altros left to RL shortly after, but Atticus’ ambition to keep Altros’ dream alive built the N.I.C.E. Troupe into what it is today.

Tell us about the first dance experience as a troupe.

Jan 5th 2019. All we had back then was a dance pad that allowed our dancers to be moved around in geometrical patterns and some still state that they did not know what they did and were thankful that they just had to jump on those movers and look good, others played instruments and Atticus performed an amazing fire show with burning sticks and pois. Dancers and audience alike had a blast and an unforgettable evening that lead shortly after to the production of our first real show.

What does your troupe enjoy most about troupe dance performances?

Making friends, working on the story, the outfits and the plan of the setting together, seeing the finished dances and scenes – are some keywords of our troupe members. What we all feel is the fun and joy we bring the audience after a hard time of rehearsals.

How does it make the troupe feel to perform?

For some is it a nice happy experience. Some feel that to be allowed and able to perform gives them a deep purpose. But as different as our personal goals might be – to reach it, feels for each of us marvelous.

Tell us about one of the troupes best experiences?

Each experience is unique, so it is very difficult to pick out the best one, and of course is this also a very personal matter. But we all agreed on, that the moment we were able to surprise a Master at a special occasion and see some tears of joy flowing was one of the best moments we all had.

What is an interesting fact about the troupe?

N.I.C.E. is the only all-male dance troupe in SL Gor.

Tell us a short biography about how the troupe was formed:

Luminaria Dance Troupe was born from a shared flame — a tight-knit assembly of kajirae drawn from the farthest reaches of Gor, united by their love for the art of movement and story. Each dancer carries tales of distant lands, triumphs, and trials, weaving them into jubilant performances that honor both beauty and strength.

Newly kindled yet fierce in spirit, Luminaria’s name reflects the light they bring to the stage. Every step is a spark, every turn a whisper of shadow and flame — a balance of discipline and desire, restraint and release.

Formed through passion, shaped by artistry, and bound by devotion to Gorean dance, Luminaria invites all who watch to leave the world behind and enter a realm where movement speaks louder than words.

They do not simply perform. They ignite.

===============================================================

What inspired the leadership to first start a dance troupe?:

The leadership of Luminaria was inspired by both Passion & Rashid’s vision of creating more than just a performance group … they dreamed of a living, breathing collective where every dancer mattered. Rather than a troupe built on hierarchy alone, Luminaria was founded as a space where each kajira could express her creativity freely, whether through choreography, storytelling, costume design, music ideas, stage concepts, or mentorship.

Passion and Rashid believe dance is strongest when shaped by many voices, not one. They wanted a troupe where imagination was welcomed, individuality was celebrated, and every member had the power to help mold the performances they brought to life.

From that desire grew Luminaria … a troupe fueled not only by movement, but by shared creation, collaboration, and the freedom to shine together.

===============================================================

Tell us about the first dance experience as a troupe:

The very first time the troupe actually danced together was for a tavern night at Selnar, Imperial Cos. It was still during the first moments of Luminaria’s conception, but most of the girls that performed that night became troupe members. Then later, officially, the troupe was asked to perform at the ‘Light the Fire’ dance competition during the time that the judges were calculating scores. But our big debut is actually happening here at the 2026 En’Kara Fair. The troupe has been working hard on crafting a Gorean story to share with the fairgoers and are excited to bring their enthusiasm and creativity to life on the Fair’s stage!

Tell us a short biography about how the troupe was formed.

A small group of dancing girls from various Portuguese-speaking islands, each unique in their physical characteristics, in the individuality that comes from the region where each body was trained, they respond in mysteries of synchronized movements in a single line, forming this imaginary chain, that fuses them through their slave essence and their passion to serve through the art of their bodies.” ~ Gorean Brazil Dance

What inspired the leadership to first start a dance troupe?

Gorean Brazil Dance, or simply GBD, was born from a dream. From the heart of a girl (Loba – izabellywolf sorbet) passionate about Gorean dance, who found other girls as dreamy as she was (Ramberrie and Esther). United by their love of art, they decided to flourish together and bring Gorean dance to the stages and sands of all of SL GOR.

At that time, we saw wonderful troupes of various nationalities — French, Italian, American — but we felt the absence of a group that represented the Portuguese language, Brazil, our identity. With the loving encouragement of other companies, we mustered courage. Even with the language barrier, we dared to be born. Today, GBD is made up of 10 Brazilian girls who live in different Gorean cities and share the same burning passion for dance.

Throughout these years, we have proudly carried our participation in Dance Fairs and Exhibitions, Workshops, Openings of Gorean Cities, FC celebrations and renewals, En’Kara Fair, Ubare appointments and inaugurations, anniversaries, and so many other special occasions in Gor.

Tell us about the first dance experience as a troupe.

The inspiration came from admiration. Seeing troupes like the Horettes and the Troupe de Ko-ro-ba shining on the sands of Gor touched us deeply. It was impossible not to be moved by the love, discipline, and dedication that those companies demonstrated. GBD was born from this enchantment, from the desire to also contribute beauty, organization, emotion, and excellence to the culture of Gorean dance.

What does your troupe enjoy most about troupe dance performances?

It was simply fabulous. Seven years ago, our debut was with the classic Dance of the Net, a show that still moves people today and that, whenever possible, we bring back to the sands. It was the moment we realized that dream was real. The butterflies in our stomachs, the camaraderie backstage, the sparkle in our eyes… everything there confirmed that we were just beginning a beautiful journey.

How does it make the troupe feel to perform?

Without a doubt, the happiness reflected in the Master’s gaze when each dancer performs with excellence is striking. Knowing that they feel proud and honored deeply moves us. And then comes the joy of the audience, each applause, each word of affection, each shared emotion. Dance is about giving, but it’s also about exchange.
No matter how many shows we’ve done, the butterflies in our stomachs always appear! (laughs) The anxiety before going on stage is part of the magic. But when the music starts, everything transforms into focus and passion. And, in the end, when we hear all the girls vibrating together in the voice, celebrating the dedication and excellence of the show, it’s something indescribable. The synergy of GBD is alive, intense, and unique. We are more than a group, we are a sisterhood.

Tell us about one of the troupes best experiences?

Without a doubt: Sardar. For all these seven years, we have been present at every edition of the Fair. Sardar is special. It’s where we experience unique moments, reunions, overcoming challenges, and triumphs. Knowing that new dancers have begun to tread this path after watching a GBD performance during the Fair warms our hearts in an indescribable way. Sardar always leaves us with a sense of nostalgia and sweet anticipation for the next year.

What is an interesting fact about the troupe?

We have a simply fantastic support network. Our Masters are present, encouraging, and generous. They are always willing to help with every detail and, yes, even participate in performances when the choreography requires it (laughs!). This support strengthens and inspires us. GBD is not made up only of dancers; it is built by a community that believes in the art, dedication, and love for Gorean dance.
